Super Deformed or SD kits are the smallest in the lineup — recognized by their big heads and deformed body proportions. Very beginner friendly and great for children.

Though not as posable as other grades, there's a real charm to them. SD kits are very affordable ($4–10) and quick to build.

High Grade (HG) are the most commonly built kits. They're easy to build, affordable ($12–25), and available in a huge variety. At 1/144 scale, they're the perfect size for collecting and displaying.

Introduced in 2010 for Gunpla's 30th Anniversary, RG kits combine the inner frame detail of Master Grade with HG's 1/144 size. They feature more color separation, articulation, and include a hefty decal sheet.

Great for builders who want HG size but more out of their kit.

Master Grade (MG) kits are 1/100 scale, priced $30–50. They feature a full inner skeleton for articulation and sturdiness. More technical parts mean more detail — and a very satisfying finished build.

Considered a favorite among Gunpla builders for their size, detail, and poseability.

Perfect Grade (PG) kits are 1/60 scale — one of the largest available. Prices start above $120, but you get an extraordinarily detailed kit with finger articulation, inner frame detail, and beautifully packaged boxes.

Many PG kits support optional LED lighting systems. These builds take a weekend (or three) — take your time, mistakes aren't cheap.
