The New Designer

Chapter Two

Lisa turned on her car and headed home. On the way home, she stops by a Mcdonald’s. She went through the drive-through. She waited for a few minutes then it was her turn. 

“Hi welcome to McDonald’s, order when you’re ready,” said the man on the speaker.

“Hi, can I get your number four with a large Dr. Peper with light ice,” asked Lisa

“Got it, is that all?” asked the man.

“Yes that’s all,” responded Lisa.

“Ok, that will be $10.47 at the window,” said the man.

“Thank you,” said Lisa.

She moved the car forward a little and took out her wallet out of her bag. The car in front of her moved up to the second window so she moved up to the first window. The man said her order and she confirmed it. She gave him her card and waited. The man soon gave her card back with the receipt. She said thank you to the man. He said no problem. She moved to the second window when the car in front of her left.

“Hi, you order the number four with a Dr. Peper with light ice correct?” asked the lady at the window. 

“Yes, I did,” answered Lisa.

“OK, here is your drink, and give us a sec for your food,” Said the lady.

Lisa put her drink in her cup holder and put her wallet back in her bag while she was waiting. After a few minutes, she got her food.

“Here is your food and have a wonderful night miss,” said the lady.

“Thank you so much have a great night also,” responded Lisa.

Lisa put her food on the passage seat and headed home. She turned on her radio and listened to music. She Got on the freeway and enjoyed her ride home. After a few minutes, her exit was coming up. She got off the freeway and continued home. She arrived home and head into her place. She turned off her car and got out of her car. She went to the other side of the car and opened the door. She put on her bag first then she grabbed her food and drink. She closed the door and locked the car. She headed to her front door and went in.

She took off her shoes and headed to the kitchen. She put the food on the counter and headed upstairs. She went to her room and put her bag down. She went to her bathroom and washed her hands. She headed back downstairs and got ready to eat. She turned on her TV and put on a show. She sat down and prayed then started to eat. She enjoyed her food and drink. When she finished eating she throw away the trash and washed her hands. She paused her sho wand turned off the TV. She turned off the lights and headed upstairs. 

She went to her room then to her bathroom she got undressed and took a shower. She was enjoying her shower. After half an hour she got out and dried off. She Put on some clothes and head to her bed. She got on her bed and turned on her TV. She played her show she was watching earlier and got comfortable. She watched a few episodes of her show and while she was watching she fell asleep. 

RANG! RANG! Lisa’s Alarm went off. She woke up and turned it off. She Got out of bed and went to her closet and changed into her streetwear outfit. She headed out her room, door and grabbed her bag on the way out. She headed downstairs and had breakfast. She made herself an egg avocado sandwich. She prayed and ate her food. After she finished eating she clean up her dishes, utensils, and pan. She grabbed her bag from her chair and headed to the front door and put on her shoes. She headed out the door and locked it. She got in her car and turned it on. She connected her phone to her car speakers and played music. She headed to work. On the way, she bought coffee for herself and her coworkers. She waited for her drinks. When she got her drinks she put them in her car and headed to work. She soon arrived at her work. She got out of her car and went to the other side. She put on her bag and grabbed her Drinks. She headed in and handed her team and team leader.

“Hers your drink everyone,” Said Lisa 

“Thank you,” Shouted everyone.

After she handed everyone their drinks she headed to her team leader’s office. She knocks on the door and asked “Can I come in.”

“Yes you may,’ replied the team leader.

“I have your coffee,” said Lisa.

“Thank you very much, Miss Lisa,” said the team leader.

She handed him the drink. She started to walk to the door and he said wait.

“Is there something wrong sir?” asked Lisa.

“Please have a seat,” said the team leader.

“Yes, sir,” said Lisa.

“It has been two months since you started and I was wondering how you like the job so far?” ask the team leader.

“I really like it, and I am already making my first outfit for the brand and have my own workshop,” said Lisa.

“That’s wonderful so keep up the good work,” said the team leader.

She got up and head out of his office. She closed his door and headed to her workshop. She unlocked the door and put her bag down. She got straight to work. She started to work on what she started last night. She organized all her fabric. She started to work. She calmly and slowly put together her project. She was working for a while and started to get tired so she connects to the speakers and started to play music. She was almost done with the sweater. She was really happy with how it’s turning out. She soon finished the sweater. She checked the time and it was almost her lunchtime. So she throws away the scrap pieces she can’t use anymore and gathered all the pieces she can. She grabbed her bag and her keys and got ready to leave.

 The New Designer

   RANG! RANG! Lisa was slowly waking up and sat up on her bed. She turned off her alarm and got out of bed. She went to the bathroom and got ready for work. Soon after she finished getting ready she went downstairs and had breakfast. She made herself a ham sandwich with orange juice. When she finished eating he cleaned up her mess and washed her dishes. She grabbed her bag and went to the front door. She put her shoe on and out the door. She got in her car and headed to work.

   On the way to work, she stopped by a coffee shop and got some drinks for her coworkers. After picking the drinks up she headed to work. She parked her car and headed into the building. Lisa is quietly new to her team. She has only been working for two months. She works for a clothing brand company. Furthermore, She on the design team and works with the marketing team to get the product modeled and sold. She gave the coffee to her coworkers and sat at her seat and got to work. 

   At the moment she is designing a streetwear sweater and pants. She was almost done with the sweater design and was still brainstorming designs for the pants. After a couple of hours, she finalized the design for the sweater and submitted it to the team leader through email. While she waited for him to approve it she works on the pant design. She finished drawing out the design and chose what fabric would be good. She did some minor changes to the design of the pants and got an email. The email was from the team leader. It says, “The overall design is great, but the pocket in the front on the bottom left needs to be fixed and lined up with the other side. Once you fix that you can start making a sample outfit. Great job miss Lisa.” Lisa was glad he liked it. She started to fix the pocket. When she finished that she continued working on the pant design. She changed the pocket design a few times and added removable straps and other designs. After a few hours, it was lunch break. She put her design neatly to the side of her desk. She grabbed her bag and headed out. She got in her car and started to look for a good place to eat. She only has an hour, so she had to be quick. She found a good Japanese restaurant. She turned her car on and headed to the restaurant. After 7 mins she arrived. She parked and headed inside. A waiter sat her down at the bar side table and gave a menu. She looks through the drinks first then the food. The waiter came back, and ask ” What would you like to drink?”

   Lisa replied, “Thai milk tea please.” 

   “Ok ill be back with that,” said the waiter. 

   She looked back at the menu and looked at the appetizers first then the bowls. She knew what she wanted and waited. While she waited she went through her snapagram, and after a few minutes, the waiter came back with her drink. 

   “Here is the drink you order,” Said the waiter.

   “Thank you very much,” replied Lisa. 

   “Are you ready to order?” asked the waiter. 

   “Yes, I would like a serving of croquette and a bowl of Hakata please,” said Lisa. 

   “Very well be back with your order,” responded the waiter. 

   The waiter went to put the order in and Lisa took out her iPad a pulled up her design for the pants. She started to jot down ideas and concepts for the pants. She worked on it for 15 minutes then the waiter was back with her food. 

   “OK miss here is your food you order, first the croquette, and then your bowl of Hakata, enjoy your food,” said the Waiter

   “Thank you very much,” said Lisa happily

   Lisa prayed for the food, then started to eat. She put in one ear pod and put on a show on her phone and put away her iPad. She started to eat and enjoyed her food. She enjoyed the food so much after a few minutes she finished the food. She put away her ear pod and phone in her bag. She went to the front and paid for the meal then headed out. She got in her car and headed back to work. On the way there she stopped by a gas station. She went in and bought some small snacks and a drink. She paid for it she headed back to her car. She turned her car on and headed back to work. She parked her car and head to work.

   She went in and straight to finishing the design for the pants. After an hour she finished and sent the design to her team leader to get it approved. She waited for a little then she got an email back from him. He said that’s great, and she may continue to make the outfit. Then she headed to the fabric warehouse in the back of the building. She grabbed a basket and look for all the fabrics she wanted to use. She then went to get all the tools she needs that are not in her workshop. She had everything she needed, so she headed to her workshop. She made a call to her friend.

   “Hey wanted to ask if you can help me with my project?” asked Lisa.

   “Sure no problem just send me the date and time you need me to come over,” He replied.

   “Thank you so much, ill let you know when I need you to come over,” Said Lisa.

   Lisa hanged up the phone. She connected her phone to her speaker and closed her door. She was happy that she got a soundproof room, so she can listen to music and work. She started to put together the outfit. After an hour it was time for her to get off work. She cleaned up a little then headed out. She looks at the room door and headed to her desk. She grabbed the bag and things she needs, then head out the door. She got in her car and headed home.
